I am not recommending the product purely because i have picked up my neighbour two doors down on the monitor i ran upstairs after hearing strange crying to discover it wasn't my baby and could then hear my neighbour consoling her toddler. This has only happened once but I bought the product because it says "zero interference and private connection guaranteed".

Parent unit sound very very low can not be heard
the parent unit volume is very very low and can hardly be heard. My freinds have commented on how low the voulme is too. I have followed the instructions that has been posted by Phillips for improving this but still no improvement. The volume is turned up to the maximum including the sensitivity and the parent unit is quite close to the baby unit (only one room away). I may just hear a sound from the parent unit and if I hold it right close next to my ear I can hear my baby crying.
The positive aspects to the unit are that it is very portable and ou can use the baby unit without plugging into the mains -very handy if you are just moving your baby to another room temporary. The temperature sensor is very handy and appears to be very accurate.
Unfortunately for me the fact that the parent unit volume is just so low it is useless and I am worrying if I am missing my baby making a noise which does defeat the object of using a baby monitor.

Parent unit - too low sound
Model SCD525 is in general good device except for one most important thing: sound level on parent unit is too low. So low that at the end the device is useless unless you hold it near your ear all the time.

Easy to use and well designed
Nicely designed parent unit with belt clip and lanyard. Works well even in a large house. We have already used in 3 countries (Scotland, England and Australia) and it seems to travel well.
