I can't connect my Philips Home Safety Camera to my Wi-Fi network
Published on 04 August 2024
If you are unable to pair your Philips Home Safety Camera with the Philips Home Safety app, read the article below for possible causes and solutions.
Make sure that you have entered the correct Wi-Fi password. If the password is incorrect, the camera will not be able to connect to the network.
Make sure that you are as close to your router as possible. This will give you the strongest Wi-Fi signal.
Adjust the brightness of your phone before scanning the QR code.
Make sure that your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the camera.
In all cases, the camera should be in "pairing mode", so the light should slowly blink white when you try to read the QR code. If this is not the case, perform a reset and try to pair again.
Check if you are using a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. If you are using a 5 GHz network, try switching to a 2.4 GHz network and scanning the QR code again. To find out what Wi-Fi network you have, check the section "2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi network".
If you only have a 5 GHz network available, you may need to divide your network into dual-band. At this point, we recommend contacting your network provider for assistance. If the above steps did not work, try performing a reset on the camera and start pairing it again. This will reset the camera to its factory settings and might resolve any issues that were preventing the camera from scanning the QR code.
If you are unable to define whether your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz, please read our troubleshooting advice below: The name of Wi-Fi networks indicates whether they are 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz:
On a device that is connected to your Wi-Fi network, open the settings menu.
Look for the section that displays your Wi-Fi network information.
The name of your Wi-Fi network may include a suffix that indicates whether it is a 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz network. For example, if your network name is "MyNetwork_2.4GHz", then it is a 2.4 GHz network.
The Philips Home Safety Camera can only connect to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, so choose this network to connect the camera.
The name of Wi-Fi networks does not indicate 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz: If the name of the Wi-Fi network does not indicate this, we suggest checking the manual and settings of your modem/router or reaching out to your Internet provider.
If none of these steps work for you, please contact our customer support for further assistance.
