The perfect wet shave

How to get the perfect wet shave in a couple of minutes.

With a new season comes new opportunities to brush up on a few life skills and what better way to start than mastering the art of the perfect wet shave? Here are few easy steps to help you on your way:

Like many things in life, preparation for shaving is all important when it comes to achieving your final goal, which in this case is the perfect shave. The best preparation for a wet shave is by having a bath or shower. Not only does this open the pores, it also softens the hair bristles making it much easier and less painful to shave.

Get yourself lathered up

The next stage in shaving is to liberally apply your favourite variety of shaving foam, gel or soap if you want to stay old-school (if you’re really really old school then use a shaving brush and cup to do so) and apply it to the area you intend to shave. This will help reduce irritation as well as assisting clumping longer hair together making them easier to shave.

The right shaving tools for the job

The obvious question is which tool to use for the perfect shave? For this particular activity we’d recommend Philips AquaTouch which can be used as a wet or dry shaver due to its unique AquaTec seal, so there’s no possibility of any nasty electric shocks for those worried. Philips AquaTouch has caps covering the cutters to prevent the rotary blades from damaging skin as well as a Super Lift & Cut feature that helps to lift hairs away from the skin before cutting them to guarantee a close shave. These features mean that this shave is the tool to choose for those averse to nicks and cuts and the toilet paper ritual that follows afterwards.

Getting the most from your shave
Now you can make a start with your shaving. The best way to achieve results is to use the shaver in a circular motion, working your way around the various hairy cravasses and bumps on your face, pressing the shaver head lightly on the area you’re attempting to shave to achieve best results. Make sure you rinse the head of the shaver frequently whilst you shave using cold water to prevent the shaver’s rotary blade getting clogged up. Above all make sure you take your time, you’re much more likely to make mistakes if you’re rushing. If time is not on your side in the morning and you’d rather take a more leisurely approach to shaving then why not try shaving just before you go to bed?

Rinse to close your pores

After you’re done shaving make sure to rinse your face with cold water, this may be the last thing you want to do but it’s a great way to assist pore closure as well as being a bit of a wake up.
