The TV power button works the same as the standby button on the remote control. This TV does not have the option to switch off the TV completely.
If you do not wish to see the standby indicator during standby, you may switch off the standby indicator in the TV menu [Setup] > [TV settings] > [Preferences] > [Standby LED].
