How to calculate the annual energy consumption of this Philips TV?

Published on 2019-09-10

Annual energy consumption is calculated using the typical on-mode power consumption based on an average of four hours a day of watching TV and multiplied with 365 days a year.

The typical on-mode power consumption is measured according to the International standard IEC62087 Ed 2.

Example:

The typical on-mode power consumption is stated in the product leaflet specification page as ‘Eu Energy Label power’.

Assume the ‘Eu Energy Label power’ is 60W.

You can use this formula to calculate the Annual energy consumption:

[Eu Energy Label power] x [Average 4 hours used per day] x [365 days]

=[60] x [4] x [365]

= 87 KWh
