docking speaker with Bluetooth®

There are so many docking stations for iphone, but for anyone who prefers to use an android smart phones the options are limited, but thanks to Philips now I can listen to my music, charge my Android phone and have a clock radio next to my bed all in this lovely device. It looks cool and stylish, the sound is superb and really easy to use.

I bought this for the clock. However it turned out to be much more than a standard clock. The sound quality is great for background music at parties and get togethers.

Finally a full featured dock that fits a samsung S3 with a case-mate on. Thanks to the fully adjustable usb stand, one handed docking is possible, and the fast rate charger does the job in an hour. I do not use the Dockstudio app since it is still currently buggy, but the clock can be manually set and the bluetooth links just fine once the AS111 is located. The fidelity is very smooth with decent bass and reaches room filling volume easily without distortion. This was my main concern, and the AS111 performs better than I hoped. The nightlight is useful to have, but illumination of top controls, or at least tactile locators for them would have been even better.

In attempting to finally move totally away from the "other device", I needed a bedside device that would function as an alarm clock as well as a reasonable set of speakers. The AS111 fits the bill perfectly. Once the DockStudio software is loaded, it's plug and play. the Bluetooth connection is automatic and media audio is routed through the speakers. Songbird software is included if you need to stream from another device, but I don't use it. On balance, this is an excellent solution for the price. Sound quality is quite good, and volume is more than adequate for bedroom use. The final item is the micro-USB connector. A bit of adjustment and it will fit any phone that I can think of, a nice touch and solid design.

Only Trick was un linking my Blue tooth ear think that I never use. Fidelio is nice, like the home screen and has all my local radio stations, I live in the hills so I cant get many sations over the air so love the IP radio feature.

I give Philips a huge thumbs up because they've kept their innovation going in order to bring us loyal Android users a worthy dock! It's beautifully round, and the music has great highs and lows as I listen to it while writing this. Couldn't ask for more except the option to choose Google's Play Music instead of Songbird inside the DockStudio app. Philips, keep up the pioneering!

Philips obviously realised that not everybody uses Apple. This was the first Android radio I found and will probably last me a long time.

I have been using this Philips device for about 4 years now with no problems. But about a week ago it started cutting out whilst in use with the time disappearing only to be replaced by the numbers 00:22 where time shud've been.. It has happened about 3 times now... Have to unplug it and wait 10mins, then reset it.. Only to have it happen again... Very disappointed as I love this speaker/clock... Wondering if anyone out there can help me with any idea of what's happening with the device.. Thanks...

Having migrated from the iPhone, a bedside do know for my new Samsung Galaxy S2 was something I hoped would appear, so when the Fidelio line of Android speaker docks appeared I was immediately interested, please both as an overnight charging system but also for listening to some tunes. After looking at some of the larger models I settled for the cheapest - it seemed to offer what I was looking for and pre-Christmas I wasn't looking to spend a fortune. Opening the packaging I was pleasantly surprised by the weight of the product and impressed with the overall feeling if quality. I was soon installing the Fidelio App, pairing with Bluetooth and enjoying some sounds. First up: for a small mono speaker, and the As111 sounds really good. No, I its not going to win any What Hi-Fri awards but the sound is warm, friendly the bass surprisingly present and perfect for late night talk shows. Next up: you may wish to play back your media library with this speaker dock but I no longer bother: the TuneIn App has turned me into an avid late nightInternet radio listener. The Dock connector is a smart bit of engineering: being micro USB in neither has the size or the latching mechanism of an iPod/iPhone connector to offer that really positive 'your connected' feeling. But it is very adjustable and two rubber padded 'stabilisers' either side of the USB connector can be adjusted to make your phone sit steady. Downsides: the Fidelio software, whilst not awful, could be a lot, lot better.. Whenever you plug in a micro USB device to your phone, the Fidelio App will think it is connecting to the speaker, turn on Bluetooth and spend the next few minutes trying to pair. The clock brightness has three settings: way too bright, too bright and infinitely dim. The ring of orange LEDs on the base (the 'nightlight') looks cool but serves no purpose. Lastly, the placement of controls on the top. Panel of the unit is illogical at best - certainly placing one BEHIND the dock was not the smartest move. A simple remote would have been better. Overall I'm glad Philips made this speaker dock. It's a lot better than many iPhone docks I've had and hopefully as the improve the Fidelio App the functionality will improve too.

I brought this Clock Dock as a gift for my girlfriend and after opening it and using it everybody was really impressed with the deep sound from such a small unit. It was really easy to use and the sleep function is great for having music on at a quieter volume to go to sleep to and a louder volume for the alarm in the morning. If there is a downside then the Fidelo app that has to be installed on you device is a little big and cant be installed to the SD card.
