What does HDCP mean and what is the use of HDCP?

HDCP is the abbreviation of High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection,

This is a copyright protection system that is incorporated into DVI connectors. This helps to stop unauthorized duplication of copyrighted content.

HDCP allows playing of protected content or media such as movies and concerts. HDCP checks the signal and allows only legal copies of content to display.
