Tantalizing Chicken Balls

This is the stage where you can introduce lightly cooked, adult-textured food items in small quantities, like meat and cheese. This recipe provides a good source of protein and vitamin A.

Servings Approx. 10-12 chicken balls (3-4 servings), Preparation time 15 minutes + 30 minutes marinating, Cooking time: Steam 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • ½ Minced chicken breast (approx. 130g)
  • 2 water chestnuts
  • 2 Tbs grated carrots
  • 1 Tsp coriander leaves
  • 3 Tsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • A dash of sesame oil
  • 1 ½ Tsp cornflour

  • Wash and chop chestnuts and coriander leaves finely.

  • Wash, peel and grate the carrots.

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine chestnuts, grated carrots, minced chicken and coriander leves.

  • Marinate all ingredients with seasoning in the mixing bowl. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

  • Remove mixing bowl from fridge. Wet hands and shape 1 teaspoon of marinated meat into a ball.

  • Repeat until remaining chicken mixture is used up.

  • Add water until it reaches 20 minute level in the water tank.

  • Steam for 20 minutes.

  • Transfer the desired quantity to a bowl and serve.
