Journey to Healthier FoodInitially was skeptical on the quality of food coming out of airfryer, thinking it couldn't possible perform as well as many other reviewers had claimed, until I tried the Philips airfryer.
Started testing the airfryer with fish fillets and they turned out perfect with the right amount of colour and was moist within the inside.
Also tested with fish cubes marinated with ginger oil. Stains were discovered on the heating element which was unable to remove using a medium bristle brush especially the inner thin horizontal steel rod that is above the coil. (see attached picture)
Do note to use a plastic or wooden spatula if you need to stir your food and don't want to scratch the non-stick coating of the pan.
Pro: An air fryer produces crisp, moist food without the need for a deep fryer or large amounts of oil. If avoiding saturated fats and heavily fried foods is on your list of dietary priorities, then using an air fryer instead of a deep oil fryer is clearly the way to go.
Con: The constant flow of dry, superheated air around many foods can eventually strip them of moisture, especially on the surface. While some people may accept a bit of dryness as the price paid for healthier eating, others could be disappointed by the dryness and/or lack of flavor in air fried foods.
Con: Cooking times can be considerably longer in an air fryer than a traditional deep fryer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Airfry for Fat RemovalI have always wanted to try the Airfryer especially seeing how so many people have gotten down to purchasing one. I was always curious why the Airfryer when a conventional oven would suffice.
So 2 Weeks ago, I received one. setting it up took no time at all!
So far, it has been used to fry homemade popiah, sausages, meat balls, pork rinds for dog treats.
I must say I understand the fuss about it.
One, it was alot faster then normal cooking methods.
Two, no oil involved in cooking in fact, it help removed the oil.
Three, reheating food took little to no time and it does not burn the food like a conventional oven.
However, I didnt like that:
One, if left to stand, the food turns very hard, immediate consumption whilst hot is recommended.
Two, other than the food tray, I tried to see if i could clean the vents (insides) and it was not possible other then wiping.
Three, while in use, the sound of the fan was a little unnerving for me, i wondered if i was stressing the machine out a little too much.
Overall, a good experience. It was a lot more convenient to have the Airfryer around especially for busy households! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Airfry: The start of a healthier choiceGetting to try the Philips airfryer has definitely changed my mindset of ‘food coming out of it(airfryer) does not taste good at all.’
Airfryer is definitely now the first step towards a healthier choice of living especially for this generation whereby most families are dual-incomed married couple that is working to keep the family fed. It is very convenient to cook and no oil is needed for most of the food!
The only hassle is the cleaning of the airfryer because of the multiple parts within the airfryer that makes the cooking a breeze! Also, we had to take out the food to flip or shake but the fryer was still cooking and we were afraid that food or oil might ‘fly’ out. We read that there was an auto-pause but couldn’t figure why it didn’t ‘pause’ when the tray was pulled out. Probably the auto-pause applies to the thermostat? But no, there was no ‘flying’ food or oil.
These were some of the food that we have tried to cook and it turned out amazing! To our surprise the food was not dry at all and even had moisture retained! Overall very satistfied with Philips airfryer as it is very straightforward to use. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

My first experience with an air fryerThe delivery arrived on schedule. I’ve got the Philip air fryer!!!! Its so easy to operate with not many loose pieces of accessories.
I was so excited about it!
Tried on many dishes with different types of food and ingredients. These are some comments on dishes that I would like to share.
The first dish was spiced marinated chicken wings with light flour. 180 degree Celsius 8 mins. It turned out perfectly cooked with light brown crispy skin. No extra oil needed.
Second dish that is worth mentioning was deep fried baby squid. I blanched the baby squids for couple of minutes and coated them with rice flour before air frying. A thin coat of oil was sprayed on the squid and air fried at 200 degree Celsius for 10 mins. The baby squid was so delicious and it stayed crispy for few hours.
As a culinary instructor I always find it difficult to teach students deep frying with less oil. Especially certain types of food like bean curd and fish.
So I decided to give it a try on the air fryer. I want to keep the recipes simple. Hence, for both fish and bean curd, I used only a thin layer of oil. 180 degree Celsius 5 mins for bean curd, and 8 mins for the fish. The result was marvelous!
Unfortunately when I was trying it on my mini potato chips, the pieces of potatoes started flying around in the air fryer. I guess it’s due to the turbo air. Although the result was pretty good making them crispy and crunchy; however it’s difficult to pick up the small pieces especially some of them were stuck in between the net.
It’s also very easy to clean and wash. I took less then 5 mins to wash the parts.
Overall experience was good! Highly recommended to people that want to have less grease in the kitchen and want to cook more healthy cooking! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Welcome to healthy foodWe are excited to receive the airfryer as we had heard so much about achieving fried nuggets, fries, chicken wings without oil :)
Unboxing and setting up required some fixing and attaching but wasnt too difficult.
It took us some experimenting and trial and error to get the timing and browning right, nothing too difficult and expected as with all new appliance.
The chicken wings and nuggets turned out extremely delicious and crispy as though we deep fried them. As the airfryer cooks with circulating air, chicken wings required turning to brown evenly. Fries and nuggets need to be shaken.
Cleaning was acceptable as we used baking paper to line the basket.
The airfryer is a good kitchen investment if you want healthy food. The size was good for a 3 to 4 person household.
We have plans to try fry ikan bilis and shallots next. Looks like this is a keeper. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Works well and Does not Dirty the kitchen1st time I am using a Philip Airfryer. After a few days of use, i am quite impressed with the appliance.
It works very well for cooking frozen chicken and fries.
As for the timing guide from the frozen food package, go for the lower end of the timing as this airfryer is quite powerful if you cook too long the stuff gets over cooked.
I also grilled a burger using the timing from the app and it worked perfectly.
The parts are easy to dismantle and wash (it is dishwasher safe which is important)
The main unit remains very clean after cooking. No oil drip no splatter etc etc.
During the cooking process there was no oily smoke and smell emitted when using the product.
By the way, great job on the app, lots of recipes. Good variety of food choices to give us a guide to the timing to cook various dishes. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Convenient and User FriendlyWas very excited to unbox this product as I have been hearing raves about air fryers for a while now. I am not one to read manuals, so I did a quick youtube/google on how to use the air fryer. It is really simple to use and I love it because I don't have to use oil to achieve the deep fried effect. I used the air fryer to mass cook nuggets, french fries, samosa, popiahs for 10 children an it turned out perfect. This air fryer works very well with frozen food.
One thing I have yet to fully figure out is how to clean it well - that's why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. While the tray can be fully washed and cleaned, the inner compartments are fixed and I am afraid to wash the insides - so have only managed to gently cleaned it with paper towels. This is also not clearly specified in the manuals. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Awesome Philips Air FryerFirst of all, I would like to thank The Insiders for giving me the opportunity to try out the Philips Air Fryer. I have received the product on 31Aug 2018., due to me being unwell for a couple of days, I have to hold back my review. So now it is time for me to unboxed this sweet little thing. Here it goes. Assembling the airfryer was a breeze. It took me about 5 mins to figure it out. It comes with the grill pan and of cos a recipe book which i can try out very soon! I tried frying some frozen nuggets and fries. The nuggets turn out to be crispy yet tender and juicy. The fries was a little bit dry but hey! It's more healthier and of cos lesser oil is better! Overall experience was great on this product. Highly recommended for people who are health conscious. Thanks again to The Insiders. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
