What is Philips Avent's position on micro plastics in baby bottles? (2021)
There are regulatory authorities in place to govern the materials that can be used to create baby bottles and other food-contact materials. In the United States, this is the Food and Drug Association, in Canada, it's Health Canada, in Europe, the European Food Safety Authority, as well as other health authorities around the world.
Philips vigorously follows and closely monitors legislation related to the manufacturing of its products and is not aware of any studies recognised by health authorities that confirm health risks of micro plastics in baby bottles.
Philips Avent offers parents a choice of plastic or glass bottles. Our glass bottles are made of premium quality borosilicate glass. They are heat and thermal shock resistant, so they can be safely stored in the fridge, warmed and sterilised.
