How to connect the Philips PicoPix 4010 to a Macbook?

Published on 2021-07-11

If your Macbook is equipped with a mini display or thunderbolt output, you can connect it to the PPX4010 using the optional cable PPA1270 (not supplied with the picopix), below are the steps:

  1. Connect the USB-Y-cable to the USB/DC-in slot on the projector
  2. Connect USB plugs on the other end to the Macbook (you can also connect the USB end to a power adapter PPA6200, or a Powerbank)
  3. Connect the mini-HDMI plug of the PPA1270 cable to the projector's mini-HDMI socket
  4. Connect the HDMI plug to the Macbook's HDMI socket

The Macbook should automatically detect the PicoPix. If not, you can force the system to find the projector by going to App Menu/System Preferences/Display/Detect Display button.

Note: The PPX4010 does not have speaker, in order to play sound you need to use the Macbook internal speaker. Proceed as follows:

Open the Output panel of Sound preferences, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Sound, then click Output, select the internal speakers as sound output device.
