My Philips DailyDuo vacuum cleaner's suction power is low

Published on 2019-02-11

If your Philips DailyDuo vacuum cleaner's suction power is low, there might be an easy solution. Discover how to improve its performance.

Possible causes:

  1. The dust compartment is full
  2. The filter is dirty
  3. The nozzle, roller brush or other accessories are clogged
  4. The joint of the floor nozzle may be blocked with large dirt particles

Empty the dust compartment. Press the nozzle release button to remove the detachable nozzle. Then shake the contents of the dust compartment into a dustbin.

For a thorough clean, press the dust compartment release button to remove the dust compartment. Take out the filter unit and empty the dust compartment.

Cleaning the dirty dust compartment

To maintain optimal suction performance, we advise you to clean the filters every 2 to 4 weeks.

Remove the dust compartment and take the filter unit out of the dust compartment. Remove the outer filter. Clean the inner filter and the outer filter with a brush or with a normal vacuum cleaner. If the filter is really dirty, you can clean the filter in cold or lukewarm water.
Note: Never put the filter unit back when the filters are still wet, as this will damage your appliance!

Cleaning the filter

To clean the detachable nozzle, press the nozzle release button to remove the detachable nozzle from the appliance. The nozzle can be cleaned in warm water with some washing-up liquid. Make sure the nozzle is dry before you reattach it to the appliance. Also check the other accessories that come with the vacuum cleaner and make sure they are not clogged.

There are two ways to clean the roller brush. You can use a pair of scissors to cut the hairs etc. that have collected around the roller brush. For easier cleaning, you can take out the roller brush completely. If you want to clean the roller brush with water, you can do so but only after you have removed the roller brush from the floor nozzle!

Cleaning clogged accessories

Check if the joint of the floor nozzle is not blocked with any large dirt particles. Press the floor nozzle release button to detach the stick from the floor nozzle and remove any large dirt particles from the joint.
