"Jardins de nuit": Light and color enhancing nature

What’s more exciting and romantic than a picturesque castle in the French countryside? A castle with beautifully designed and landscaped gardens? Bien sûr. But what’s even more exciting and romantic is a picturesque French castle with beautiful gardens, which you can visit at night!

Illuminated gardens

Every year from May to October, the International Garden Festival in central France showcases 26 gardens created by internationally renowned landscape designers. Each year, the event attracts close to 300,000 visitors. Now, for the very first time since the festival began 17 years ago, and thanks to Philips LED lighting solutions, visitors can tour 12 of those gardens after dark.

Chaumont-sur-Loire Center for Arts and Nature

This is a public institution located at a magnificent chateau on the river Loire. Every year, it organizes a six month public festival to showcase 26 gardens. Each of the gardens has been created by distinguished designers and it’s become a major showcase for the work of the next generation of landscape gardeners and architects.

Enhancing nature

Now the festival’s organizers have signed a three year partnership with Philips France to light 12 of those gardens after dark. The illuminations were planned and structured by Philips in association with a French lighting specialist installer, Citéos, and they were designed by the renowned Lighting Designer Sylvain Bigot (Neo Light). They say you can’t change nature but our united efforts certainly contributed to enhance the beauty of it with Philips colored and powerful LED lighting solutions.

Showcasing Philips

Illuminating the “chateau’s” gardens offers us an amazing public and professional showcase for our exterior LED lighting solutions. It will act as an introduction to ministries, historical monuments, town halls and regional and local councils throughout France and spread the word about what Philips Lighting can offer.
